Use the J-App with your favorite DAWs
If you're a J-App user, you may be aware that connections to classic DAWs as sound interfaces or virtual instruments are not always straightforward. But don't worry, there are simple solutions to make these connections smoother: audio routers.
What is an audio routeur?
An audio router, like Soundflower or Loopback for example, is a software or hardware tool that lets you manage and direct the flow of audio between different sources and destinations on your computer system. It creates virtual channels for audio input and output, enabling you to redirect sound between different applications and peripherals on your computer. What's more, it offers the ability to create audio loops, meaning you can easily redirect sound from one application to another.
Soundflower
Let's take Soundflower as an example. The steps required to configure Soundflower correctly are fairly straightforward. In your favorite DAW, simply select the audio router as the input sound interface. Soundflower acts as an internal audio interface, so you don't need to open the application to use it.
Loopback
Loopback is another popular solution for facilitating audio connections between the Joué App and conventional DAWs. Unlike Soundflower, Loopback needs to be open to perform audio routing. Here's how to configure Loopback for optimum use: In the Loopback interface, you'll find the "New Virtual Device" option. Click on it to create a new virtual device. Next, add a source to select the Joué App from your applications and audio devices. In your DAW, you can then choose Loopback as the input audio interface. Select the channel corresponding to the one to which you've connected the Joué App. With this configuration, you'll be able to take full advantage of the Joué App's features in your favorite DAW.
In your DAW, you can then choose Loopback as your audio input interface. Select the channel that corresponds to the connected one. With this configuration, you'll be able to take full advantage of the J-App's features in your favorite DAW.
